FMX star Jeremy Lusk dies at 24
Metal Mulisha rider Jeremy Lusk passed away this morning at approximately 2 am local time from complications after a bad motorcycle crash in the Ricardo Saprissa stadium last Saturday during the X Knights competition. Lusk was admitted to the Calderon Guardia Hospital in San Jose and remained in an induced coma. He was surrounded by his wife and family during his final moments.
Lusk was one of the best in this sport and will be greatly missed by friends, colleagues and FMX fans worldwide.
6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Costa Rica
A very strong earthquake shook Costa Rica today causing important structural damage in buildings, roads, houses and leaving several people injured or stranded. At least two deaths have been reported.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake was centered 35 kilometers northwest of the capital of San Jose in the early afternoon, near the Poas Volcano National Park, one of the biggest attractions for tourists in the country.
According to some, the earthquake is one of the strongest to be felt in Costa Rica in the last years, shaking its metropolitan area where at least 2.5 million people live (more than half of the country’s population).
jetBlue to Operate Flights to Costa Rica
jetBlue will begin flights to Costa Rica on March 2009. The low-cost airline will offer direct flights to Orlando from San Jose on a daily basis. The arrival of JetBlue is said to increase the amount of passengers visiting Costa Rica, which is currently around 2,750,000 each year. With JetBlue there would now be 13 commercial airlines operating flights to Costa Rica.
